Become an Internship Supervisor!

Becoming a Champion is easy when you have a great partner!

Chicago Public Schools offers a six-week summer internship program to high school juniors and seniors that are pursuing a career pathway in Technology. All internships are skills-based, paid and include workplace experiences that support skills development and professional career readiness. The internship provides students an expanded network of professionals, new and improved skill sets and the confidence to become practicing young tech professionals.

Summer Internship Requirements:

  • Students work a total 120 hours  (20 hours a week for 6 weeks)
  • Internship dates are from late June to Early August - specific dates are based on program and will be provided during onboarding process
  • Majority of intern stipends are funded by CPS at $8.25–$10.00 an hour

Internship Tech Fields:
Most Employers host students in the following pathways:

  • Web Development
  • Computer Science/Programming
  • Networking

While internship responsibilities vary by where students are placed, students have provided valuable support functions such as:

  • Providing web design and development
  • Installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting hardware, software, server applications, and networks
  • Creating apps
  • Implementing social media marketing plans
  • Performing data administration, disaster recovery and equipment inventory tasks
  • Providing desktop support in local and remote locations for computers, handhelds, laptops and printers
